SC asks Interior Ministry to submit reply on Dr Asim’s ECL case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court has on Thursday ordered the Interior Ministry to submit report regarding placing the name of former federal minister Dr Asim Hussain in the Exit Control List (ECL). A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan resumed hearing of Dr Asim’s case seeking removal of his name from the ECL. During the proceedings, the court remarked that nine medical boards that had been formed for Dr Asim had found different disease and its treatment abroad. The court sought reply from the Interior Ministry regarding the criteria of placing the name of PPP leader Dr Asim in the ECL. The court adjourned the hearing for one week.
