SC bans use of word 'Sahib' for govt officers

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa on Thursday banned the use of 'word' for government officers, saying that the word reflects the 'ruling mindset'.

Hearing a case of land payment on Thursday, he reprimanded the Punjab additional advocate general and government officers and asked them to stop making fun of the judicial system.

"The objective of the government officers is to serve the people. "The use of word 'Sahib' shows the ruling mindset," he observed.

The court ordered the Punjab government to pay the compensation amount.
