SC bars NAB from plea bargain in ‘voluntary return’ law

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court has stopped the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from plea bargain in ‘voluntary return’ case. The SC demanded for a complete record from NAB’s prosecutor general of the accused who asked for a plea bargain in ten years. A three-member bench headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case. Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali remarked that the corrupt are again appointed in their offices after taking the amount in installations. He added that those who made the law of voluntary return should be ashamed. “Corruption is being promoted through this law,” he said.
