SC conditionally restores 16,000 sacked employees

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court on Friday conditionally restored 16,000 sacked employees.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial read out the verdict regarding restoration of the employees by using the power of suo motu.

The court ordered to restore the BS-7 employees immediately from the date on which they were sacked, while the BS-8 and above employees will be restored after passing the test. The verdict was announced by a majority of 4-1.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah accepted the review petitions with a dissenting note.

The counsel for employees thanked the court for averting a human tragedy.
