SC dismisses NAB appeal against acquittal of ex-DSP Jahan Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan dismissed the NAB appeal against the acquittal of former DSP Jahan Khan on Thursday. Announcing the verdict, Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa remarked that the objective of the NAB is not only to arrest the people. “The NAB should think that its objective is not to register the cases. People are facing mental stress due to this attitude of the NAB,” he remarked. The CJ remarked that how the NAB would compensate 19 years of the accused. “The NAB should be fined,” he ruled. He said that the NAB had not given the proof of the designation through which the accused had done corruption. The LHC had already acquitted the accused four years back.
