SC dismisses plea seeking removal of NAB chairman

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday has dismissed petition seeking removal of Justice (r) Javed Iqbal as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman. Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Noor Awan in his chamber. During the hearing, the chief justice upheld the objections raised by the SC registrar office and rejected petition. The registrar office directed to petitioner that the petition should be filed through proper forum. The petition filed by PML-N leader Noor Awan on issue of money laundering allegations against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. The petitioner pleaded that fake allegations had tarnished Nawaz Sharif’s image while stating that the politicians can give statements against the opponents but the NAB can’t make a party and avoid to give the fake allegation and statements.
