SC dismisses Sheikh Rasheed's petition in Faizabad sit-in case on basis of withdrawal

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan dismissed the petition of AML chief Sheikh Rasheed in the Faizabad sit-in case on the basis of withdrawal.

During the hearing on Wednesday, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa remarked that the matter was not a joke. "You (Sheikh Rasheed) have perturbed the entire country. You file the petition and then withdraw it on your whim," he observed.

He remarked that the question was also on courts as why the review petition was not fixed for hearing.

Talking to the media after the hearing, AML chief Sheikh Rasheed claimed that he was not tortured during the 40-day 'chilla'.
