SC disposes of case over appointment of NAB Prosecutor General

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Wednesday disposed of the case relating to appointment of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Prosecutor General.
A three-member bench of the apex court heard the suo motu cognizance pertaining to delay in the appointment of NAB prosecutor general.
During the proceedings, Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf told the court that the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has recommended appointment of retired judge Syed Asghar Haider for the slot out of a panel of eight names.
He said the summary is with the President Mamnoon Hussain and a notification is expected within two days.
The CJP later on the assurance of the tribunal members and NAB prosecutor general disposed of the case.
