SC forms JIT to probe into Panama Leaks, Wajid Zia to head JIT

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has formed a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe into the Panama Leaks case.

FIA Additional Director General Wajid Zia will head the JIT, while Brig Kamran Khurshid of the MI, Brig Muhammad Nauman of ISI, Bilal Rasool of the SECP, Amir Aziz of State Bank of Pakistan and Irfan Naeem Mangi of the NAB will be its members.

The JIT will sit in the Federal Judicial Committee and submit its report within 60 days.

The federal government will provide necessary funds to the JIT. Initially, directions have been issued to provide the JIT with Rs 20 million.

The JIT members will be able to recruit staff from their respective departments.

According to the court orders, all administrative institutions will be bound to cooperate with the JIT.
