SC indicts Daniyal Aziz in contempt case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday indicted Federal Minister for Privatization Daniyal Aziz in contempt of court case. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Azmat Saeed was conducting the contempt of court case against the federal minister. During the proceedings, the court indicted Daniyal Aziz under Article 204 of the constitution. Justice Mushir Alam read out charges against the minister in the courtroom. The minister pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him framed by the top court. On February 19, the SC had issued a show cause notice in which three specific news items were recorded to Aziz in contempt of court case. The court had directed his counsel to submit a reply by Friday (today). Earlier, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar took a suo motu notice of the federal minister’s remarks against the judiciary.
