SC issues notices to Asif Zardari, Malik Riaz in fake accounts case

LAHORE (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday issued notices to PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari and Bahria Town chairman Malik Riaz for December 31 in the fake accounts case. Hearing the case at Lahore Registry, Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar remarked that there is a troika of Zardari Group, Baharia Town and Omni Group. “Malik Riaz is getting ads published to blackmail court. It is not the Pakistan that it was in the past where state land was doled out. These companies used to run the expenditures of Zardari and Bilawal houses,” he remarked. The CJ said that even the food of their dogs was sent by someone else. Justice Ejazul Hassan remarked that why the amount was paid when the land was gifted. The court also ordered to freeze the properties of Zardari Group, Bahria Town and Omni Group. On the court order, the JIT report was played on a projector. According to the report, the amount of fake accounts was paid through the fake accounts. Baharia Town’s Icon Tower land in Clifton is also illegal. The Lahore land is owned by the Zardari Group that borrowed Rs 53.4 billion.
