ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan has decided to form a larger bench to hear the presidential reference filed for explanation of the Article 63A.

The court has notices to all political parties for March 24.

In the reference, four question has been sought from the Supreme Court: Which explanation of the Article 63A is acceptable? Whether the vote of an estranged member will be counted or not? Whether a person voting against his or her party will stand disqualified for life? Which type of steps can be taken to stop horse-trading?

Chief Justice Umar Attal Bandial remarked that the attorney general's stance on the Sindh House incident is a good sign. "We hope that the government will also condemn the Sindh House incident. All political parties should show their responsibility," he remarked.

He ordered the counsels for all political parties to prepare the reference after going through it.

Earlier, Attorney General Khalid Javed Khan contended that the government is not seeking a stay order in this regard. "Moreover, the proceeding of the National Assembly will not be affected by the presidential reference. No one can be stopped from casting his vote," he stated.
