SC moved against judicial commission investigating audio leaks

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court to challenge the judicial commission probing the audio leaks.

The petitioner prayed to court to nullify the notification formulating the judicial commission.

It has been contended that a judge cannot be nominated for the commission without the permission of the chief justice. He contended that the Supreme Judicial Commission is the only forum to conduct investigation or take action against any judge of the Supreme Court.

On the other hand, the judicial commission has started investigations into audio leaks of the judges. The commission announced to make the proceedings public.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa, head of the judicial commission, has ordered the federal government to issue the new SIM cards and Android mobile phone. He directed the federal government to provide the complete name and address of the people present in the audios.

He remarked that they had to search the facts, not action against anyone.
