SC orders closing down three sugar mills of Sharif family

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered to close down three sugar mills of the Sharif family. A three-member bench headed by Justice Saqib Nisar heard the case regarding the transfer of Ittefaq Sugar Mills from north to south. In its verdict, the court said that the mills would remain closed till the Lahore High Court deals with restraining order. Complete operations of Ittefaq, Haseeb Waqas and Chaudhry sugar mills have been stopped after the order. The Supreme Court has further ordered the Lahore High Court to give a decision by February 16 after listening to the arguments of all the parties. PTI leader Jahangir Tareen had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the verdict of Lahore High Court.
