SC orders ECP to hold LB polls in Punjab, Sindh on Sep 20

*LB elections to be held in cantonment areas on April 25, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 30 & in Islamabad on July 25 ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court has ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold local bodies elections in Punjab and Sindh on September 20, 2015. A three-member bench headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja directed the ECP to hold the local bodies elections in cantonment area on April 25, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 30 and in Islamabad on July 25. In his remarks, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja said that the government should not make fun of the public and the constitution. “The ECP should tell why the local bodies elections were not held in cantonment areas during the past 17 areas,” he questioned.
