LAHORE (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Sunday ordered the provincial government to remove all security barriers placed outside the residence of Member National Assembly (MNA) Hamza Shahbaz. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the suo motu case pertaining to blockade of roads at the apex court’s Lahore registry. During the proceedings, the CJP remarked who Hamza Shehbaz is and he don’t know any Hamza, to which the Chief Secretary said that Hamza was an MNA and son of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar further remarked that if there were threats to his (Hamza) life, he should change his residence. Why can’t these people move to the places where there is no life threat, the CJP observed. “I am chief justice, but security barriers have not been erected outside my residence,” he remarked. Further coming down hard, the CJP remarked that he would take strict action if he received complaints of police personnel taking bath outside Hamza’s residence.
