ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan adjourned the Practice and Procedure Act case till Wednesday (tomorrow).

During the hearing, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa stopped Justice Muneeb from asking questions repeatedly, ordering him to ask the question after completion of the argument.

"We are hearing the case for four days and as a result, several cases are lying pending," he remarked. "Is the Supreme Court bench also bound by the rules? Can a person sitting in the bench terms the rules unconstitutional? If the parliament and the bench cannot do it, then all the power is left with one person."

Justice Muneeb retorted that being part of the bench, he had the right to ask questions. "What is the use of sitting in the bench if I am prevented from asking questions?"

CJP Qazi Faez Isa asked Justice Muneeb to write it in the verdict if he has already made up his mind.

Justice Ejazul Ahsan remarked that the Act had violated all restrictions imposed on the parliament. "The meaning of supervise will be to control the Supreme Court. Is this Act an interference in the internal affairs of the Supreme Court?" he observed.
