SC to pronounce verdict on disqualification period today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan will pronounce the judgment on the disqualification period on Friday. A five-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar, had reserved the judgement on 14th of February on appeals and petitions challenging the length of disqualification under the said article. The court will decide whether the disqualification of a parliamentarian disqualified under 62(1) (f) of the constitution is for life or not. The Supreme Court No 1 will pronounce the verdict at 11am. The court had reserved the judgment on February 14. It is the same article under which former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and PTI leader Jehangir Tarin were disqualified by the Supreme Court.
