SC rejects govt’s plea for action against PTI chairman Imran Khan for violating court orders

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court rejected the government plea seeking action against PTI chairman Imran Khan for violating the court orders.

A five-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial heard the plea on Thursday.

The court remarked that the SC is for the protection of the constitutional right. "The court procceedings cannot be intitaed on the basis of assumption. The PTI would have reservations against he government."

Attorney General of Pakistan Ashtar Ausaf Ali contended that the PTI had violated the court orders. He also stated that the PTI had breached the court order by entering D Chowk, burning public property and trees, injuring the security forces personnel and creating turmoil in the federal capital.

Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial remarked that the Imran Khan might have not received the correct message. "Vandalism  and arson is regerettable. Whatever happened had shatterred the court trust in political parties. We will issue such order which will be an example for future," he observed.
