ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a plea of the federal government challenging the order of the Lahore High Court (LHC) in case pertaining to increase in Hajj quota. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar formed a committee to probe the change in quota after the LHC ordered to decrease the government quota from 67 to 60 percent. The chief justice question Deputy Attorney General Suhail Mehmood if the cabinet could render the order of a superior court ineffective. He dismissed the plea, saying that there was nothing wrong with the LHC order that had increased the quota of private tour operators.
