ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has rejected the pleas of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against the bails of PPP leader Khurshid Shah and other family members in the assets beyond means case.

Hearing the pleas on Tuesday, Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial remarked that the NAB should more do work in the investigations and prove the case in the trial court.

"How can we put other accused in jail when the main accused is on bail?. There is no need to arrest the wives, children and relatives of Khurshid Shah. It is not justified to form a case against anyone without solid proofs," he ruled.

Justice Ayesha Malik questioned why a cheque was being termed as bribe or commission.

The NAB prosecutor contended that the contractor Abdur Razzaq Bahrani paid Rs 2.5 million to Khurshid Shah as commission. "The contractor could not provide a solid reason to give money to the contractor," he added.
