ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday rejected the plea seeking nullification of the general elections 2024.

Despite being summoned, petitioner Ali Muhammad Khan did not appear in court and informed about his presence abroad through e-mail.

The court fined the petitioner an amount of Rs500,000 for not appearing in court.

During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa remarked that the petitioner had filed the application for his publicity and went abroad after filing it. "The state should ensure that a person who was court-martialled should not use the rank of a brigadier," he ordered.

During the hearing, Shaukat Basra also came to rostrum and stopped him from speaking. The court issued him a contempt of court notice for speaking despite being stopped.

The court also warned to send the matter to the bar. "All have jointly made the mockery of the country," the CJP remarked.
