ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) plea for giving a time frame for the elections.

Hearing the plea, Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial remarked that the court had neither given a direction nor a timeline for the dialogues.

"The court cannot force anyone to hold dialogues. It is just a proposal. Politicians should sit together for the constitution and find out a solution to the problems," he remarked.

The CJP remarked if the government had been serious it would have taken steps for talks. "The government is just playing pass, pass. The option of the court and the constitution will remain if a solution is not found through the talks," he added.

The attorney general apprised the court about progress on the talks. The CJP remarked that the court only wants solution, not any explanation. Later, the court adjourned the hearing after issuing an appropriate order of today's hearing.
