SC summons airline officials for issuing boarding pass to Rao Anwar

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday summoned private airline officials for issuing boarding pass to former Malir Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rao Anwar. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar was conducting hearing of suo motu case related to extra-judicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud. During the proceedings, the CJP remarked that the court would spare Rao Anwar and protect him if he comes to the court. Justice Saqib Nisar remarked that if found, the facilitators of former Malir SSP will not go unpunished. The CJP asked who facilitated Rao Anwar at the airport and issued boarding pass to which Sindh IG AD Khawaja told the court that private airline issued boarding pass to the ex-cop. He asked if the Bahria Town’s aircraft was used for the ex-cop, adding that did Malik Riaz submit an affidavit to which the representative of the Bahria Tow said told the court that an affidavit was submitted. State Bank governor who was present in the courtroom in its report submitted in the court said that the accounts of Rao Anwar had been seized.
