SC summons Hamza, Ayesha Ahad in torture case

LAHORE (92 News) – The Supreme Court on Sunday summoned Hamza Shehbaz, son of former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a case pertaining to the alleged torture of Ayesha Ahad who claimed his wife. As per details, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar remarked that if PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz is in Lahore then appear to before the court tomorrow. Ayesha Ahad’s counsel lamented that Hamza is not being arrested despite registration of a case against him. On the directives of the chief justice, police lodged a another case against Hamza, his brother in law Ali Imran and driver Sarwar on her complaint at South Cantonment Police Station. CCPO Lahore Ameen Wain said that Ayesha Ahad nominated six people in her complaint and that the application filed by her in 2011 was part of the FIR against Hamza and others. The suspects have been booked under section 354, 511, 149, 337, 506, 342 and 382. However, despite the case having been lodged, no progress has been made so far. Police have made no arrest so far neither have initiated any legal procedures in this regard.
