SC summons Interior minister, Secy over NIC fee for overseas Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday summoned Interior Minister and Interior Secretary in case related to fee for issuance of national identity cards (NICs) to overseas Pakistanis. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar was conducting hearing of the case. During the proceedings, the CJP ordered the Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Interior Secretary to appear before the court. Giving his remarks, the CJP said that the on what basis the government sent back a summary pertaining to fee for issuance of national identity cards (NICs) to overseas Pakistanis. What was the reason to reject a summary with regard to fee structure for overseas Pakistanis, he asked.
