ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday summoned Sindh chief secretary in Thar deaths case. A bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard a suo moto notice pertaining to death of Thar child due to shortage of food. The court summoned the Sindh chief secretary tomorrow (on Wednesday). During the hearing, the chief justice remarked that nobody stated about the real problems of Thar and performance of the Sindh government is zero. “I will myself sit in Thar because I don’t want to see the death of people due to shortage of food and facilities in Thar,” he added. “If the Sindh government is serving the people then what is all of this? The government has been the same since the last 10 years,” CJ Nisar said. Meanwhile, the top court asked for the details of the facilities available at Thar hospitals and summoned the secretary of the health care commission. Earlier, the court rejected Sindh government’s request to submit a report in a week. “We have no time. We can’t even give you one additional day,” the chief justice said. The top judge had taken suo motu notice of children’s death in Thar due to food shortage.
