SC summons Sindh CM, ex-Karachi Mayor in water commission case

KARACHI (92 News) – The Supreme Court Karachi Registry has on Monday summoned Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal in water commission case. A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the water commission case. During the proceedings, the CJP remarked that it would be easy to resolve issues in the presence of Sindh CM adding that the court would issue orders if the problem didn’t resolve. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar remarked that it cannot be ignored as it is a matter of the lives of common people. The summoned Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday (December 6). The applicant Gulzar Owasto told the court that former Karachi Mayor Mustafa Kamal had illegally allotted land for Water Treatment Plant in Mahmoodabad to which the court also summoned Mustafa Kamal tomorrow (Tuesday) in personal capacity. The court asked Musfata Kamal to explain why he allotted 50 acres of land. The CJP remarked that they wanted to next generations to have clean drinking water, adding that Larkana despite being home of the ruling Pakistan Peoples’ Party was having 88 percent contaminated water.
