ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court on Wednesday suspended its verdict nullifying the trial of civilians in military courts, conditionally allowing them to continue the trial of 102 arrested accused involved in the incidents of May 9 and 10.

The SC stopped the military courts from announcing the final verdict in the case till the judgement on the appeals.

The six-member SC bench issued the order by 5-1. Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice Aminuddin, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Irfan Sa'adat endorsed the decision. However, Justice Musarrat Hilali opposed the continuity of civilians' trial in military courts.

Justice Sardar Tariq Masood refused to stay away from the bench, observing that it was judge's discretion whether he remains part of the bench or not.

Later, the court adjourned the case until the third week of January.
