Schools to remain close for two days in Punjab

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab government has on Sunday decided to keep educational institutes closed for at least two days, i.e. on Monday and Tuesday, due to prevailing law and order situation in the country. Minister of Education Rana Mashood announced that all school, colleges and Universities in the province will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday. "Due to current law and order situation in the country, the government has decided to close all educational institutions - public and private sector schools, colleges and universities - for Monday and Tuesday" said an official statement. He said that this closure could be extended if situation doesn’t get better and a fresh announcement will be made accordingly. Meanwhile. Islamabad Private Schools Association has also announced to close schools on Monday. Activists of Tehreek-i-Khatm-i-Nabuwwat, Tehreek-i-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYR) and the Sunni Tehreek Pakistan (ST) have been protesting and staging sit-ins on highway and railway lines in several cities of Pakistan for nearly three weeks, disrupting road and rail traffic.
