ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) chairman Zafar Hijazi was on Friday indicted in the record tampering case. A special court judge, Irum Niazi, resumed the record tempering case against the SECP chairman. During the proceedings, the judge read the charges against Zafar Hijazi. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and said that he had not tempered the records so the case against him is false. The prosecutor said that they have evidence against Hijazi and they will prove it in the court. The court later adjourned the hearing until November 10 and the witnesses were notified for the trial. The Federal Investigation Agency took Hijazi into custody in July, after a report released by the Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) alleged that the former SECP chairman had altered records related to the Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
