WASHINGTON (92 News) – Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that security threats is not a regional but a global challenge and Pakistan has broken the backbone of terrorists. Addressing a seminar on World Geological Threats in Washington, he said that terrorism will only be defeated by joint efforts. The minister said that Pakistan has rendered great sacrifices in war on terror, adding that the backbone of terrorists in Pakistan has been broken. Ahsan Iqbal went on to say that the presence of Daesh in Afghanistan is posing threat to regional peace. Drug smuggling in Afghanistan has reached its peak, he added. The minister said: “Terrorists can take advantage as US-Pakistan relation hits new low in 2018.” He further said that the US and European countries should cooperate with Pakistan in its efforts for peace, adding that economic development can sustain peace and stability.
