Sehwan suicide bomber was male: in-charge CTD Umer Khattab

SEHWAN SHARIF (92 News) – The investigation into the horrific suicide attack on the premises of Lal Shahbaz Shrine, which left around 74 and 200 others injured is underway. Forensic teams led by in-charge Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Umer Khattab visited the shrine and collected evidence from the spot. Talking to media, Umer Khattab said that evidence suggested that the suicide bomber was male. He said that the bomber had used the normal visitors gate to enter the shrine. Khattab said that the deaths and injuries were caused due to the ball bearings present in the suicide jacket. On the other hand, the security has been beefed up in various cities following the suicide attack, while Elite Commandos, Rangers and police force have been deputed in and around different places. Pakistan Army has taken charge of the sensitive building in the twin cities, while Sindh Rangers have taken charge of the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi in Karachi. On the other hand, Pakistan has shut down the Torkham and Chaman border crossings with Afghanistan for an indefinite period of time, after the horrific suicide blast on the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan. Earlier, as many as 72 people were martyred while over 200 others, including women and children, were injured in a suicide attack on the premises of Lal Shahbaz Shrine. The Sehwan DHO said that 12 women and two children are among the martyrs. The spokesman for the Sindh police said that the suicide bomber entered the shrine from the Golden Gate. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah phoned IGP Sindh AD Khwaja. He declared an emergency in the hospitals of Hyderabad.
