Senate chairman hands over his seat to Krishna Kumari on Int’l Women’s Day

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Setting a rare example in the history of Pakistan, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on Friday handed over his seat honorary to Krishna Kumari, a minority member, on the International Women’s Day, allowing her to run the House. Krishna Kumari, who was elected as Senator from Tharparkar, headed the proceedings amicably. Meanwhile, members congratulated Krishna Kumari on chairing the House. Meanwhile, the opposition staged a token walkout for not publishing the picture of the slain PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto in the government advertisements. PPP Senator Sherry Rehman lodged the protest during the session. The meeting reiterated to get the rights for women. Later, Honorary Chairperson Krishna Kumari postponed the Senate session for an indefinite period.

International Women's Day being observed
