Senate election: All candidates elected unopposed in Punjab

LAHORE (92 News) – All eleven candidates have been elected unopposed in Punjab in the Senate election.

Sources in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) disclosed that five each candidates of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and a candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) have been elected unopposed.

Moreover, PML-N's three candidates have been elected on the general seats, one on the women seat and a technocrat seat. Azam Tarar and Sadia Khaqan Abbasi have been elected on the technocrat and women seats respectively.

On the other hand, Afnanullah, son of the late Mushahidullah, Sajid Mir and Irfanul Haq Siddiqui have been elected on the general seats.

PTI's Barrister Ali Zafar and Dr Zarqa Taimoor have been elected on the technocrat and women seats. PTI leader Ijaz Chaudhary, Aun Abbas and Saifullah Sarwar Niazi have been elected on the general seats.

PML-Q's Kamil Ali Agha has also been elected unopposed.
