Senate Elections: PPP starts short listing of candidates

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Following the announcement of March 3 date for the Senate elections by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has on Wednesday started short listing of candidates for the upcoming Senate elections. Around half of the candidates were out in the first phase of the short listings. Former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s sister Dr Azra is likely to be in the expected candidates for the Senate elections. On the other hand, the return of now Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani and Taj Haider is difficult, while the party has decided not to give ticket to Sehar Kamran and Ajiz Dhamra.
