Senate membership case: Additional Attorney General pleads SC to declare Ishaq Dar’s seat vacant

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Additional Attorney General has requested Supreme Court (SC) to declare Ishaq Dar’s seat vacant.

Additional Attorney General said on Thursay, “According to the new ordinance, if a member of Parliament does not take oath within 60 days, the seat will be declared vacant. Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejects petition against ordinance. Following the rejection of the petition, the matter is pending in the intra-court appeal.

Ishaq Dar was consistently absent on the summons of the SC. He did not give any reason of not coming despite the notice was sent to him."

Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan said that the counsel of Ishaq Dar was not present today. He adjourned the case hearing till next week.
