Senate unanimously approves PEMRA (Amendment) Bill 2023

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Senate unanimously approved the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Bill 2023.

Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb presented the bill.

She said that all stakeholders were consulted regarding the bill. "Misinformation and disinformation are included in the bill. The power of the PEMRA chairman was bifurcated into the authority and the Council of Authority was empowered, giving the right to appeal," she declared.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the department will not give advertisements to the organization not paying the dues of its employees.
