Senator Ishaq Dar, other accused acquitted in assets beyond means case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Accountability Court Judge Bashir Ahmed acquitted Senator Ishaq Dar in the assets beyond means case on Monday.

The court also acquitted NBP president Saeed Ahmed, Manoor Raza and Naeem.

The judge ruled that the case was being disposed of in the light of the NAB statement.

During the hearing, the NAB prosecutor told court that no proof of corruption was found against Ishaq Dar. The court asked the NAB to submit the statement in writing. Earlier, the court reserved the verdict.

In 2017, Dar was declared a proclaimed offender and his perpetual arrest warrants were issued for him. Later, the warrants were cancelled when he surrendered in October last year. According to the NAB, the former finance minister’s assets had grown manifold from Rs9.1 million in 1982-83 to Rs831.6m in 2008.
