Senator John McCain calls on Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – US delegation led by Senator John McCain called on Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz in Islamabad on Sunday. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary were also present in the meeting. During the meeting, the two countries discussed matters pertaining to Afghanistan, F-16 and regional security situation. The situation arising in the aftermath of the US drone attack in Balochistan that killed Taliban leader Mullah Mansoor Akhtar last month was also discussed. Senator John McCain lauded Pakistan's role in reconciliation process in Afghanistan. He also called for joint efforts of the two countries to curb the menace of terrorism. Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry said that Pakistan will continue to play its role for Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
