DAMSCUS (Web Desk) – A senior Daesh leader who was involved in the beheading of an American aid worker has been killed in a drone strike in Syria. Abu al-Umarayan was with "several other ISIS members" when he died earlier today. He facilitated in the brutal beheading of Peter Kassig in November 2014. Col Sean Ryan said in a statement: "Al Umarayn had given indications of posing an imminent threat to coalition forces and he was involved in the killing of American citizen and former US Army Ranger, Peter Kassig. "He has been linked to and directly involved with executing several other prisoners as a senior ISIS member." Kassig, 26, was the fifth Western hostage to be killed by ISIS militants. He was kidnapped in October 2013, when travelling to eastern Syria to help victims of the war. But more than a year later, ISIS released a shocking video showing a masked man standing over his severed head.
