Sentence only suspended, not terminated: Shehbaz Sharif reacts to IHC judgment

LONDON (92 News) - Former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the sentence of the PTI chairman has been suspended, not terminated.

Reacting to suspension of the sentence by the IHC on Tuesday, he questioned that what will the subordinate court do after receiving a message from the apex court.

"The chief justice's message of 'Good to see you' and 'Wishing you good luck' has reached the IHC. People knew well about the decision long before its announcement. This justice system should be a worry for all," he maintained.

Shehbaz Sharif said that a monitoring judge was appointed to ensure the sentence of Nawaz Sharif. "In this case, the chief justice himself became a monitoring judge to save the favourite. This character of the justice system will be written in the dark chapter of history. A justice system that undermines justice is not acceptable," he added.

The former prime minister said that the law is helpless before the person who sold out the gifted watch. "How will the common man get justice in the country when thieves and terrorists will be facilitated?"

He said that everything is pardoned whether it is May 9 or an attack on the judicial complex and a rain of petrol bombs on the police.
