Bajwa Doctrine has no link with 18th Amendment or judiciary: DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor has said that the Bajwa Doctrine has no link with the 18th Amendment, the judiciary or a meeting with anchors. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said that the COAS want peace in the country and the doctrine should be viewed in the parameters of security. Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that the Army has no link with the NRO. “The impression of a meeting between the COAS and Shehbaz Sharif without any proof is wrong,” he said. The DG ISPR said that their top priority is to make the CPEC successful. “Unstable Pakistan is not in favor of India. We have never shut our eye from our archrival India. All are one on this issue,” he said. “Our wish for peace should not be considered our weakness. Any aggression will get a befitting response.” He said that the PSL final has proved that Karachi is returning to peace. “There is no concept of shutdown in the city. Today’s Karachi is different from 2013.” He said that their services should not be viewed suspiciously. “The year started with the tweet of the US President Donald Trump. There has been some shift with regard to the US relations,” he said. The DG ISPR said that the world is turning to geopolitics and geo-economics. “Better results will emerge in the region if Pakistan’s role is witnessed positively,” he said. He said that the Pak Army has been visiting Saudi Arabia for training and security. “The decision to send army to Saudi Arabia was made under bilateral cooperation,” he maintained. Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that there is need to understand India. “Peace might be in jeopardy due to provocation at the Line of Control (LOC). India will have to close attacks on the civilians,” he said. The DG ISPR said that the border relationship with Iran improved after the visit of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa. “Iranian pilots are getting training in Pakistan,” he said.
