Seven of a family die as fire breaks out in six-storey plaza in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD (92 News) –  Seven members of a family, including four children, died when fire broke out in a six-storey plaza located in Sottar Mandi, Faisalabad.

The deceased include Abdul Sattar, Farhan, Umar, Bilal, Muavia Usman, Noor Fatima and Aroosh.

As per details, over 45 people were living on the top three floors of the building. The tragedy occurred due to narrow stairs and lack of emergency exit points. The cause of fire is said to be short-circuit in the plaza.

Citizens blamed the FESCO for the heavy loss. Seven rescue vehicles reached the spot and brought the fire under control after several hours while the bodies were evacuated from the building.

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has expressed grief over the loss of precious in the tragedy and sought a report from the commissioner.
