Seven foreign tourists stranded in flood-hit areas of Gilgit-Baltistan

GILGIT-BALTISTAN (92 News) – Seven foreign tourists have been stranded in flood-hit areas, while a Pakistani mountaineer went missing as the team came under avalanche on Monday. As many as 45 houses have been damaged, while 110 water-channels destroyed due to heavy rainfall in Gilgit-Baltistan. The road connection between village Hoshi and Ghancha city has been disconnected as a result of which seven foreign tourists of whom three were from America, two from Britain and two from India and Japan have been stranded in the village. On the other hand, a team of 18 mountaineers came under avalanche at Broad Peak due to which a Pakistani mountaineer Qamar Ali from Ghancha went missing, while Chinese and Japanese mountaineers received injuries.
