RAWALPINDI (92 News) – At least seven Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom, while dozens of Indian troops were also killed in unprovoked firing of Indian forces across the Line of Control at Bhimber sector on Monday. In a statement issued by the ISPR, Pakistani troops effectively targeted the Indian posts while responding to the unprovoked firing. The unprovoked firing of the Indian forces martyr seven Pakistani soldiers, while the Indian side also suffered major casualties and their checkposts destroyed as a result of Pakistan's retaliatory fire. Border skirmishes intensified after suspected militants attacked a military base in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri, killing 19 Indian soldiers on September 18. India claimed to have carried out a “surgical strike” after the attack across the Line of Control. Pakistan has denied the claim. India shares 230 km of International Border and 740 km of LoC with Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of seven Pakistani troops. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that the tensions between two nuclear-armed countries could be dangerous, adding that India is also involved in terrorism in Pakistan. He said that Indian forces have started using heavy weapons, adding that the enemy is also picking up bodies. Foreign Office has decided to summon Indian Deputy High Commissioner to lodge a strong protest over unprovoked firing of the Indian border forces along the Line of Control (LoC). India has violated ceasefire agreement for over 222 during the current year. Reacting to the martyrdom of Pakistani soldiers along the LoC by the unprovoked firing of the Indian troops, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid said that India will bear heavy loss, adding that the situation is getting even worse due to India. Analysts have also condemned the recent Indian aggression saying it is resorting to such acts to deflect world attention from ongoing atrocities in occupied Kashmir. They said India also wants to divert Pakistan's attention from pursuing the development agenda including the swift implementation of multi billion dollars China Pakistan economic corridor project.
