Severe power shutdown continues to torment citizens as shortfall persists at 5,500 megawatts

LAHORE (92 News) – The power crisis continued across the country with shortfall persisting at 5,500 megawatts. The Water and Power Ministry officials said that the power generation is 15,000 megawatts against the demand of 21,000 megawatts. They said that the demand could increase by this evening, saying that the shortfall could touch 6,500 megawatts. “The demand could reach 22,000 megawatts.” They added that the power production could not be increased due to shortage of fuel. Meanwhile, people staged demonstrations against the severe power shutdown in Faisalabad, Swabi and other cities.
