Shab-e-Barat observed with religious fervor across country

LAHORE (92 News) – The Shab-e-Barat, the night of fortune and forgiveness, was observed across the country with religious fervor.

People offered special prayers, recited the Holy Quran, held milads, zikr and performed other religious rituals throughout the night, seeking divine blessings for the well-being of mankind. 

Ulema and religious scholars in their sermons have highlighted the teachings of Islam and various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The houses, streets and especially mosques were also decorated with colorful lights and buntings

Devotees have also visited the graves of their beloved ones and pray for their peace.

Many people have fast on the day following Shab-e-Barat night. Food and sweets were distributed among neighbors and the poor.

Shab-e-Baraat, is observed about 15 days before the start of the Holy month of fasting Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. Shab-e-Barat, a great advantage of Muslims is known as Laylat-ul- Bara’ah or Laylat-un-Nisfe min Sha’ban in the Arab world.

Special security arrangements were made for ensuring peaceful observance of the Shab-e-Barat throughout the country.
