LAHORE (92 News) – The holy Shab-e-Barat, known as the night of fortune, will be observed across the country with religious fervor tonight. Shab-e-Barat – the 15th of Sha’aban – the night of blessings and forgiveness, will be observed tonight with solemnity. Traditionally, a large numbers of the faithful throng the mosques to offer special prayers and Nawafils during the whole night under normal conditions. However, due to the situation arising out of coronavirus, the people this time around will spend the night at homes offering prayers and seeking blessings of God Almighty. The religious scholars have appealed to the masses to make diligent and whole-hearted supplications before the Almighty Allah on the blessed night for warding off the deadly pandemic of coronavirus. Government and Auqaf department have already notified preventing people to attend joint prayers in mosques to avoid spread of coronavirus. Leading Ulema had already issued religious decree asking people to avoid going to mosques for prayers. It is pertinent to mention here that this year the gatherings including Mahafil-e-Na’at have already been cancelled and believers were asked to make special prayers for the unity, prosperity and security of the country and getting rid of deadly virus.
