ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has expressed no-confidence in the Election Commission of Pakistan, demanding that the ECP members should resign.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, he demanded the commission should be organized afresh as no party trusts it.

Shafqat Mahmood condemned the attack on Shahbaz Gill, saying that the incident reflects the disappointment of the PML-N. "The politics of violence is the characteristics of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)," he added.

He said that the PML-N had conducted such attack in the Supreme Court in the past. "The prime minister is of view that we will have to introduce open balloting if we want transparency in the Senate election," he added.

The minister said that the general elections would be held after two and a half years. "We want that fingers should not the pointed at the election," he added.
